“Evolution” - Monster in My Head Series
“Evolution” - Monster in My Head Series
Acrylic paint, oil pastels, paste, on canvas
I love texture. Something about it coming off the canvas really excites me. I decided to experiment with a mixture of what I call “paste” (just a bunch of stuff I mixed together”. Once I got the texture I wanted I decided I wanted to paint one of my Monsters on there, but this monster looked more like my older paintings (a series I called “Addicts in My Head”). I loved that I was able to go back to my roots painting people again but thinking of my Monsters at the same time. This is one of my favorite “Monsters”. He comes with a poem that is written all around the sides on the canvas. The poem is :
“Boredom is the curse
Keep myself busy so it doesn’t get worse
Monsters in my head call to me “PAINT”
take my pain away, make me want 2 stay
My calling in life
They whisper and say
“To save another who feels
boredom the same way”.
